IdentifAI Genetics Raises $7 Million in Sydney IPO
Israeli biotech startup IdentifAI Genetics, which develops early genetic screening tests for the ninth week of pregnancy, has successfully raised 10 million Australian dollars (approximately $7 million) in an initial public offering on the Sydney Stock Exchange. Since going public, the company's stock has surged by 86%, trading at a market capitalization of 77 million Australian dollars ($54 million).
The company has developed a groundbreaking early screening test performed at the ninth week of pregnancy to detect chromosomal abnormalities in the fetus. While conventional amniocentesis is typically conducted around the 16th to 22nd weeks, and other blood tests are available by the tenth week, IdentifAI Genetics utilizes deep genome sequencing alongside a maternal DNA sample taken during the same procedure to provide unprecedented diagnostic accuracy.
Financial Status and Market Strategy
Despite its strong market debut, IdentifAI Genetics is still pre-revenue. Prior to the IPO, the company held just $1.1 million in cash and reported a net loss of approximately half a million dollars in the first half of 2026. Since its inception, the firm has raised roughly $6.5 million, primarily through eHealth Ventures and private angel investors.
"We wanted to raise more than just one or two million dollars, and an opportunity arose in Australia through Aesir Capital," noted co-founder and chairman Yossi Bornstein. "The Australians are very interested in innovation, but lack a wide supply of compelling medical companies on their exchange, and we arrived with perfect timing and trial validation."
Future Expansion Plans
The global market for early genetic blood diagnostic tests is currently valued at $1 billion to $2 billion, with massive potential for expansion. IdentifAI Genetics plans to launch its flagship product first in the United States via the CLIA pathway for laboratory-developed tests, bypassing the lengthy FDA approval process while preparing for a larger clinical trial to secure significant future revenues.
