Former Egyptian football player Ibrahim Mansour Baghdadi was stabbed to death in the city of Al-Qassasin within the Ismailia Governorate following a dispute over water splashes. According to local media reports, the fatal incident began outside his home when water used to settle street dust accidentally splashed a passing young girl, triggering an escalating confrontation with her family.

Escalation and Fatal Attack

Legal representative Ali Falah, speaking to local media, asserted that the incident constituted premeditated murder rather than a spontaneous brawl. According to the attorney, a neighbor armed himself with a knife and struck Baghdadi multiple times, primarily in the abdomen. Despite attempts by the former player's older brother to defuse the tension and apologize to the girl's mother, the assault continued, leaving the 26-year-old former National Bank of Egypt player mortally wounded.

Investigation and Funeral

Ismailia police swiftly detained several suspects following the attack and transferred the case to the prosecution authorities. Baghdadi's body underwent forensic examination before being released to his family. Relatives, friends, and local residents gathered in Ismailia to attend his funeral and burial service.
