Rapper IAMDDB accuses the Israeli government of unauthorized use of an AI avatar resembling her in a social media video, sparking a digital controversy.

British-Portuguese rapper IAMDDB has accused the Israeli government of using an unauthorized AI-generated avatar resembling her in an official social media video. The post, published on October 15 and later deleted though still circulating on X, featured a character reciting controversial lines about Jewish heritage and history.
The Controversy and Allegations
The rapper, born in Portugal and based in Manchester, stated that she never consented to the use of her likeness. The AI-generated character closely resembled her appearance from a 2018 Crack Magazine profile shoot. In a post on X on October 16, she wrote:
Hiya yeah so - why did you steal my identity for something I 100% did not consent to?
IAMDDB issued a formal statement on Instagram clarifying that she has no involvement in the creation or the message of the video. She emphasized that her art, identity, and likeness are not available to promote political agendas without her explicit permission.
Past Performance and Political Stance
The artist acknowledged having performed in Israel in the past but explained that the engagement occurred when she lacked the awareness and understanding of the geopolitical situation that she possesses today.
Concludingly, IAMDDB expressed solidarity with all innocent civilians affected by violence, stating that her values are rooted in humanity, peace, and artistic integrity.
