Ahead of the upcoming midterm elections, the Israeli-American Council (IAC) has launched a nationwide campaign aimed at mobilizing 150,000 community members to participate in local and state races. The non-partisan initiative focuses heavily on school boards and state legislatures, areas that directly shape educational policies and community security.

Organizers note a distinct paradox within the diaspora: while Israeli-Americans closely follow political developments in Israel, many remain disengaged from local U.S. elections. Speaking to the press, IAC Chief Operating Officer Aya Schechter emphasized that local authorities hold immense sway over daily family life. School boards determine curriculum content regarding the Holocaust and Israel, while state legislatures influence local security measures.

To bridge this civic gap, the organization has rolled out a digital campaign titled "Go Vote" across social media platforms and community networks in both Hebrew and English. The nationwide effort includes virtual briefing sessions tailored to specific state elections and the distribution of candidate questionnaires, enabling voters to evaluate contenders on key community issues.

IAC Co-Chair Tal Schuster pointed out that the diaspora often fixates on federal politics while ignoring municipal decisions that directly impact children and daily routines. Leadership stresses that the campaign remains strictly neutral, endorsing no specific candidates or parties. Instead, the initiative urges citizens to exercise their civic duty by examining all local and federal contenders to ensure the community's voice is heard at the ballot box.
