HP and Ferrari Unveil Special Formula 1 Livery for US Grand Prix
HP and Ferrari unveil a special design for the US Grand Prix, using HP Latex technology and wide-format printing to showcase internal components on Formula 1 cars.

HP is bringing its advanced design and printing technology to Ferrari for the upcoming United States Grand Prix, unveiling a special livery inspired by the foundational sketch of a car on paper. The conceptual design exposes the engine and internal components typically hidden beneath the bodywork, creating a striking visual narrative for the Formula 1 racing machine.
Applying complex graphics to a high-performance Formula 1 vehicle presented a significant engineering challenge, requiring precise adaptation to intricate body contours while ensuring durability against extreme heat, intense racing conditions, and frequent cleaning throughout the race weekend. The development process brought together Ferrari teams in the United States and HP engineers in Barcelona through rigorous testing and refinement cycles.
Using HP Latex technology and wide-format vehicle wrapping expertise, the team translated Ferrari design blueprints onto the finished car. To achieve the effect, HP engineers adapted invisible blue ink for the digital printing press and perfected its application across the car's complex aerodynamic curves.
Annie Olsen, President of Imaging Printing at HP, emphasized the collaborative effort: "Company engineers worked alongside Ferrari designers and engineers from the earliest stages, combining expertise across multiple disciplines at HP to turn an ambitious idea into reality. The project expanded our technological capabilities."
