Houthis Threaten Saudi Arabia After Airstrikes Hit Bridges and Infrastructure
Houthi officials in Yemen threaten retaliation against Saudi Arabia after airstrikes hit bridges and infrastructure, while pro-Saudi forces report hundreds of Houthi casualties.
A Houthi official in Yemen complained to the Al- الأخبار newspaper that Saudi Arabia attacked bridges and infrastructure in areas under their control, claiming they were platforms for missile launches. The Houthi official threatened that the terror organization might respond by adding all vital bridges in Saudi Arabia, especially in the capital Riyadh, to its target bank.
Meanwhile, forces of the Saudi-backed Yemeni government stated they carried out 756 strikes against Houthi targets in recent days. According to the forces, 2,316 Houthi operatives were killed or wounded in the strikes. It was also claimed that four Iranian drone and missile launch experts were killed in strikes in Taiz Governorate.
The Houthi-controlled Sanaa Health Ministry reported 67 deaths and 107 injuries from Saudi strikes since the escalation in Yemen began on September 3. Houthi military spokesman Yahya Sarea stated that Saudi Arabia carried out 26 airstrikes in the past 24 hours across Taiz, Al-Jawf, Marib, Dhamar, and Saada governorates.
Al-Akhbar, which is aligned with the pro-Iranian axis, noted assessments that the Houthis would accelerate their response to the bridge attacks. At the same time, Houthi chief negotiator Mohammed Abdulsalam said that the escalation exposes the true intentions of the Saudi regime toward Yemen, adding that these actions will only increase its failure. In recent days, the Houthis have launched ballistic missiles toward the depths of Saudi Arabia and threatened to attack cities in the south of the kingdom.
