Horror during wedding season: Event hall set on fire, severe indictments filed against 3 suspects
What began as a routine report to the 100 emergency line regarding a nighttime break-in quickly escalated into a major arson investigation. Following a technological probe by Northern District police, severe charges have been filed against a resident of Lod and two residents of Bat Yam.
A dramatic incident in the city of Tiberias has resulted in severe criminal charges. On July 26, 2012, the Israel Police 100 emergency line received a report of a suspected break-in at a local event hall. Upon arrival, Northern District police officers determined that the incident involved not only property crime but also arson.
Police forces immediately launched a comprehensive investigation, utilizing advanced technological tools to gather evidence at the scene. As the investigation progressed, detectives successfully identified and arrested three suspects: a 19-year-old resident of Lod and two residents of Bat Yam, aged 18 and 22.
Following the conclusion of the investigation and the compilation of evidence, Adv. Ohad Cohen of the Northern District Prosecutor's Office filed an indictment at the Nof HaGalil-Nazareth District Court. Alongside the indictment, an official request was submitted to keep the three suspects in custody until the end of legal proceedings.
Following the filing of these serious charges, the Israel Police issued a statement:
"The police will continue to act with determination, using all means at our disposal, to bring those involved to justice and to maintain the safety of the public and their property."
