The documentary series "Pink Suitcases" from yes marks a significant milestone, becoming the most-watched documentary series in the company's history. This was announced by the company on Tuesday. The series managed to break the previous viewership record in a short time, which was held by the documentary series about football star Eran Zahavi.

"Pink Suitcases" brings to the screen the drug smuggling case exposed in January 2023, after four young Israeli women were arrested at Ben Gurion Airport on suspicion of smuggling drugs from Berlin to Israel.

The incident occurred on January 15, 2023, when the four young women were returning from a weekend trip in Berlin. Upon their arrival in Israel, they were arrested one by one by undercover detectives from Unit 747 as they headed toward the arrivals hall with their pink suitcases. During the search, a significant load of drugs was discovered inside the luggage, including about 17 kilograms of cocaine and ketamine.

The series presents the case in a true-crime format and consists of three episodes, each about 40 minutes long. Behind the production are creators Mor Loushy and Daniel Sivan, with Doron Jersey serving as editor and co-director.

Cinematography was handled by Itay Raziel, Roi Peretz, Yaniv Linton, Avner Shahaf, and Uriel Sinai. The series was produced for yes Docu in 2026 with the support of the New Fund for Cinema and Television.

The achievement of "Pink Suitcases" comes shortly after its broadcast and places it in first place on the list of the most-watched documentary series in yes's history. In doing so, it surpasses the original production about Eran Zahavi, which had held the viewership record in the field until now.
