History at Arkia: New Captains and a Family Milestone
At a festive ceremony, new captains were certified for Arkia's fleet. Adar Medutzki achieved a double milestone, becoming the company's first female jet captain and the first to serve as a captain alongside her father.
Last week, a festive ceremony was held at the Israeli airline Arkia to mark the certification of two new captains, Idan Bachbut and Adar Medutzki, who successfully completed a rigorous training process and were certified for the company's Airbus A320/321 fleet.
Adar's certification marks a double milestone in Arkia's history: she is the first female pilot to be certified as a jet captain at the company, and for the first time, a father and daughter will serve together as captains. Her father, Tal Medutzki, has been a captain at Arkia for over 15 years in the Embraer fleet, and now his daughter joins him in the company's captain ranks.
Adar and Idan's certification follows a professional and lengthy training process, after which both joined the captain team of Arkia's Airbus A320/321 fleet.
Captain Yotam Galon, VP of Operations at Arkia, stated:
