Hili Tropper pledges: 'We will not sit in a Netanyahu government'

Hili Tropper, chairman of the "Zionist Home - The Reservists" party, answered questions from users today on his party's X account and pledged:

"We will not sit in a Netanyahu government."

He added: "We will only be part of a Zionist government and will make a real effort to expand the government as much as possible with parties that will accept its principles."

In response, the Religious Zionism party stated: "This is what the fake unity of Tropper and Hendel looks like, as they announce that they are boycotting the representatives of Religious Zionism and over a million Likud voters who see Prime Minister Netanyahu as a candidate for head of government. In fact, Tropper is putting a gun to the head of the national camp and saying: either Netanyahu is ousted, or I will crown Yair Golan as Minister of Defense and Naama Lazimi as a cabinet member. This is not unity. This is baseless hatred and a return to the divisive boycotts of October 6."

"Unity Party" chairman Gilad Erdan also attacked Tropper: "Now things are clear: you voted for Tropper, you got Yair Golan. Only the Unity Party will not sit in any narrow government but will bring about the establishment of a broad unity government of the two blocs. Whoever wants unity, a true right-wing, and a true draft - will only get them with us."

Earlier, Tropper's party addressed the results of the Likud primaries, stating: "The Likud list is a mirror image of the current government: a great many ultra-Orthodox members who did not serve in the army are shaping a party that wants to cling to power at any price. This list will not bring a real draft law, will not correct the injustice towards the fighters and reservists, and will not establish a broad Zionist government. After three years in which those who serve carried the country on their backs, in the upcoming elections we must have a strong political force that will decide: a Zionist government that chooses those who serve."

In the latest Channel 13 poll, which was broadcast last week in the main edition, the joint list of Tropper and Yoaz Hendel managed to cross the electoral threshold, after remaining below it the week before, and stabilized at four mandates.

At the beginning of last week, Channel 13 reported that former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett is making efforts to join Tropper and his list members to the "Together" party. Tropper responded that he "does not engage in private conversations" and that when he has something to update, he will do so.
