Israeli Influencer Hili Toledano Opens Up About Rare Blood Disease
Israeli social media star Hili Toledano opened up about her rare chronic blood disorder, polycythemia vera, diagnosed when she was just 16 years old.
Hili Toledano, one of Israel's most prominent social media stars, has opened up about her ongoing battle with a rare chronic blood disorder. Known for her large online following and her relationship with popular YouTuber Idan Telem (Inda Game), Toledano revealed that she was diagnosed at the remarkably young age of 16.
In a candid interview with Mako, Toledano shared that she suffers from polycythemia vera, a rare chronic blood condition characterized by the overproduction of red blood cells in the bone marrow. While the disease is typically diagnosed around age 40, discovering it so early made her an exceptionally rare case. The condition can cause severe fatigue and headaches, requiring her to undergo medical checkups every three months.
"They discovered it during my first IDF draft medical board. My body produces more red blood cells, which could potentially cause artery blockages," Toledano explained. "There are very intensive treatments for this disease, but because they found it when I was so young, they didn't want to pump me with heavy medications. It's a rare disease and I'm an even rarer case, but thank God I'm okay, I'm alive and breathing."
Despite her medical condition, Toledano continues to thrive professionally. Earlier in July, it was announced that she and her partner Idan Telem are set to star in the upcoming Hanukkah Festigal.
