The family of Heymanot Kasau, the young girl who disappeared from an absorption center in Safed in February 2024, discovered that a banner calling for her safe return had been removed and replaced with a political sign during their visit to vote in the Knesset elections on Tuesday.

The campaign headquarters dedicated to finding Heymanot stated that activists vandalized the original banner urging her return and substituted it with a poster supporting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The identities of those responsible for removing the sign remain unknown.

Benchay Kasau, Heymanot's mother, expressed profound grief over the incident: "My heart is broken. Since seeing the footage, I have not slept a minute. All night I wondered if perhaps these are the people who took Heymanot. I am disappointed; I expected more from people."

Tesfaya Kasau, the missing girl's father, also voiced deep anguish. "My heart breaks to see this, knowing there are people who care so little about a little girl, and that politics matter more to them than my daughter," he said.

Heymanot Kasau was last seen on February 25, 2024, at the age of nine, at the absorption center on Tzahal Street in Safed. Despite ongoing searches and public efforts, her fate remains unknown as her family continues their tireless struggle to keep her disappearance in the public eye.
