President Isaac Herzog announced he will recommend four Israelis for the Presidential Medal for Civilian Bravery after they stopped an in-flight attack on a Flydubai plane.

President Isaac Herzog spoke with four Israelis who demonstrated exceptional heroism during a Flydubai flight from Dubai, announcing his intention to recommend them for the Presidential Medal for Civilian Bravery. The incident occurred when one pilot attacked the co-pilot, causing the aircraft to lose altitude.
Heroic Actions Aboard the Aircraft
Passengers Yaniv Hayun, Dr. Shota Musaev, Zvika Mans, and Asaf Rajwan intervened after being alerted by Tali Mans. Hayun, Mans, and Rajwan entered the cockpit to subdue the attacker, with Hayun successfully stabilizing the aircraft's controls. Meanwhile, Indian Captain Sumit Madhar fought bravely alongside the passengers to neutralize the threat, despite the severe danger.
Following the neutralization of the attacker, Dr. Shota Musaev provided critical medical treatment to the severely wounded pilot, stabilizing his condition until the flight made an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia. Herzog praised the passengers for their resourcefulness and mutual responsibility.
"In moments when the lives of so many were in danger, you acted without hesitation, with extraordinary courage and mutual guarantee, preventing a heavy disaster," President Herzog stated.
