Hapoel Tel Aviv is nearing the completion of its roster for the upcoming season. The club's professional staff has identified American guard Eugene German, who has played in the Chinese league for the past two years, and the club is in negotiations with him, despite the fact that there is no consensus that he is the guard who can optimally complement Chris Jones.

German (28, 1.83m) played for four years at Northern Illinois University. After a short stint in the second division in Turkey in his first season, he arrived in the Greek league for Ionikos in the summer of 2021 and finished the season at the Turkish club Merkezefendi. Aside from another period with the Turkish team, he played only in the Chinese league, where he performed successfully for the strong Beijing Ducks for the last two years. Last season, he recorded 18.3 points, 4.8 assists, and 3.1 rebounds per game. Recently, he played in the Puerto Rico Summer League.

Dimitris Itoudis' backcourt currently includes Tomas Satoransky and Vasa Micic, alongside Elijah Bryant and Bar Timor. Hapoel will soon make a decision regarding the situation with Tamir Blatt. If it is decided that the player, who has been with Maccabi Tel Aviv in recent years, will not join the team, the one who may come to Hapoel is Max Heidegger. However, this is complicated by a complex contractual situation with Bnei Herzliya, and it is unclear how Hapoel will be able to resolve it without paying significant compensation to the team from the Sharon region.

At the same time, the Reds are close to signing naturalized forward Jacob Toppin, who is expected to step into the shoes of Colin Malcolm, who is slated to move to Anadolu Efes. Tomer Ginat will sign a new four-year contract with the club.
