A routine bus ride in Haifa turned violent when a passenger, Ira Sakharov, was assaulted after asking four teenage girls to stop smoking inside the vehicle. The incident left her injured and seeking medical treatment.

According to Sakharov, the confrontation escalated quickly after she objected to the smoking and began recording the teenagers on her phone as evidence. When she resumed listening to music, the girls spat on her and her belongings. As she attempted to alert the driver, the group blocked her path, shouting and making threats.

In an effort to defend herself, Sakharov sprayed water from a bottle at the teenagers, prompting one of them to deliver a forceful kick. Following the physical attack, the girls pursued her as she tried to disembark at the Lev HaMifratz station, forcing her back onto transport out of fear for her safety and reluctance to reveal where she lived.

Bystanders intervened only after the physical blow was struck. Sakharov sustained injuries to her knee, requiring a bandage and medical evaluation at an emergency room. She has since filed an official police complaint and intends to pursue legal action, aided by witnesses who came forward with information.

According to local media reports, the Israel Police confirmed that an investigation has been launched by the Haifa station, utilizing various investigative measures to determine the facts of the case.
