A tragic incident occurred in Hadera, where 17-year-old Amichai Attiya, a resident of Itamar and a 12th-grade student at the Hitztim Yeshiva, was struck and killed by a vehicle while attending a Selichot prayers event with his school. The driver, a resident of Kafr Manda, was reportedly driving at a high speed in a parking lot when the fatal collision took place. Police have launched an intensive investigation into the circumstances of the tragedy.

Official Reactions and Community Mourning

Samaria Regional Council head Yossi Dagan spoke with Hadera Mayor Nir Ben Haim following the accident. Dagan expressed deep sorrow over the loss of the young student, extending condolences to his parents, Sagit and Yonah Attiya, and his five siblings, including a twin brother. The Itamar community also released a statement paying tribute to Amichai, describing him as a beloved, values-driven, and vibrant youth leader within the settlement.

"We are shocked and in deep pain. Amichai was a young man with his whole life ahead of him, who went out with his friends for an evening of Selichot and did not return home," said Yossi Dagan.

Details of the Incident

The fatal accident took place near a parking area adjacent to the Olga Yeshiva in Hadera, where students had gathered for a communal Selichot gathering organized in cooperation with the Hadera municipality. Emergency services responded to the scene, but despite resuscitation efforts, the teenager succumbed to his critical injuries. Authorities continue to investigate the driver's actions and the exact sequence of events leading up to the crash.
