Ben Ari shared a story urging the public to stop everything and pray for the recovery of Baruch Neriah ben Odelia Jessica, the son of a close friend, who is in critical condition after contracting the rare and fatal Naegleria fowleri amoeba.
"I am asking with all my heart that you pray right now," Ben Ari wrote alongside a photo of a holiday challah and a jar of honey, attaching a link to psalms and asking the public to send good intentions for the child fighting for his life.
The infection is caused by the parasite Naegleria fowleri, commonly known as the brain-eating amoeba. It is an extremely rare but highly lethal brain infection that typically occurs when warm freshwater containing the parasite enters through the nose directly into the brain, causing acute encephalitis. Due to its exceptionally high mortality rate, every diagnosis triggers a critical race against time.
