Guy Meroz shares about the loss: "Thank you to everyone who bothered and called"
After an especially stormy weekend that began with searches in central Tel Aviv, media personality Guy Meroz arrived at the Channel 14 studio and did not hold back with harsh words.
An event-filled weekend passed for media personality Guy Meroz, a panelist on the program "The Patriots" on Channel 14. It began with a domestic drama that ended well, and continued with a political storm in the news studio.
Everything started when the cat belonging to Meroz and his partner, Orly Vilnai, went missing in the center of Tel Aviv. Meroz did not hesitate and turned to social media with an urgent request for help, attaching a picture of the cat with a colorful collar. Within a short time, the post became viral, and the city's residents mobilized in large numbers to assist.
After only a few hours, the cat was located and returned home safely. An emotional Meroz rushed to thank the public in another post and referred with familiar cynicism to the power of the network:
"I want to thank the masses of people who helped find the cat. They called, said 'we saw there', 'we saw here', 'we saw this' because of a post on Facebook. I say, this Facebook will catch on one day. One day this thing will catch on. In short, the cat returned home. Thank you to everyone who bothered and called and said there is a cat. A miracle in the town."
But the drama did not stop at the search for the four-legged family member. During the broadcast of the program "The Patriots", Meroz moved from personal topics to an active analysis of the geopolitical map, following the zigzag in the positions of US President Donald Trump regarding Iran.
Host Yinon Magal opened the discussion and wondered about the sharp change in the American president's statements, who moved from declarations that these are "rational people" one can talk to, to direct threats such as: "We will probably attack Iran again tonight, we will hit them hard." Magal turned to Meroz cynically: "Can someone explain to me what is happening here please? You, Guy, you understand very well, you always have very good geopolitical analyses."
Meroz, who is identified with the left wing, did not remain in debt and provided a sharp and uncompromising response towards the US President, calling him "crazy" and stating that he is "a person who needs to be in a place where they will treat him."
