Guy Meroz helped military personnel in debt and admitted: "I am collapsing"
Guy Meroz revealed he has been assisting reservists and career soldiers struggling with war-related debt, but he is now overwhelmed by the volume of requests and is seeking help to manage the initiative.
Journalist Guy Meroz, a panelist on the television program "The Patriots" on Channel 14, is leading a social initiative to provide financial assistance to reservists and career soldiers who have fallen into debt due to the war.
In a video posted to Instagram, Meroz addressed his followers, explaining that many people are turning to him for help with massive debts, but he finds himself struggling to manage the campaign alone.
"Lately, I have managed to help two or three military personnel—some reservists, some career soldiers—who got into debt because of the war. I did it on air on Channel 14. I have been doing this for 30 years, but it was the first time on this channel, and the response was amazing; we rescued them from debt. But following that, many people from the army who are in trouble, whose businesses have collapsed, and who need to sell their apartments, have reached out. And now, I am collapsing," Meroz shared.
The media personality admitted that he is struggling to handle the wave of inquiries and asked his audience for advice on how to proceed. "I am not managing the pressure of the number of people turning to me. I am not sure I can help everyone, as these things always have a 50% success rate. Therefore, I am turning to the wisdom of the masses: I am looking for an idea on how to organize this so I can help these people, voluntarily of course, without taking a single shekel. Perhaps there is some tycoon through whom we can solve their problems."
Guy Meroz recently made headlines after a candid confession on "The Patriots" regarding the difficult period he and his wife, Orly Vilnai, are currently facing.
"Today is Tu B'Av, my wife Orly's birthday, and we are in a very difficult period—moving house, health, politics. It is not a simple time. I want to admit, honey, I am guilty of everything, and I take responsibility. Everything is on me. I promise you that by the next birthday, I will be okay. I messed up this birthday to a degree that cannot be described. Give me this year, and I will be fine," Meroz said.
