US-based private equity firm GrowthCurve has acquired a controlling stake in Israeli digital health company TailorMed for approximately $250 million. The transaction will see most existing shareholders sell their stakes in the company.

Founded in 2018 by Srulik Dvorsksy and Adam Siton, TailorMed developed a platform designed to help patients in the United States navigate economic and bureaucratic barriers to secure medications and maintain treatment adherence. The company has raised about $60 million to date and employs around 120 people, including roughly 50 in Israel, who will continue their operations following the acquisition. The founders were originally inspired to launch the startup after personal family experiences with severe illnesses exposed the immense hurdles involved in obtaining medical care within the American healthcare system.

The US healthcare landscape is characterized by high costs and complex interactions among insurance providers, hospitals, and pharmaceutical companies. Even after a physician prescribes a medication, patients frequently lack the financial means or the administrative guidance required to obtain it. TailorMed initially focused on financial assistance by identifying funding programs and connecting patients in need with relevant resources. "We started as an end-point solution for cost issues and evolved into a massive network that oversees a patient's entire pharmaceutical journey, bridging the gap between pharma companies and patients," CEO and co-founder Srulik Dvorsksy told the press.

Network Scale and Expansion

According to company data, TailorMed’s network connects to more than 950 hospitals, 4,700 clinics, and 3,100 pharmacies across the United States. It encompasses over 100 pharmaceutical company programs and 6,000 support initiatives, reaching more than 75 million patients. Since 2020, the company has helped patients secure over $7.4 billion in financial assistance—representing the aid successfully facilitated rather than the company's direct revenue.

This extensive network enables TailorMed to connect various healthcare stakeholders and grant patients access to support programs they or their care teams might otherwise overlook. Dvorsksy explained that pharmaceutical companies offer numerous assistance programs, ranging from insurance navigation to adherence support and home nursing services, but utilization remains low because patients are often unaware of them. TailorMed’s platform bridges this gap, transitioning from a narrow financial aid tool into a comprehensive ecosystem connecting patients, hospitals, pharmacies, and drug manufacturers throughout the treatment cycle.

Future Growth and Artificial Intelligence

GrowthCurve’s acquisition is intended to fuel TailorMed’s next phase of expansion, which will include scaling the platform and integrating artificial intelligence capabilities. GrowthCurve specializes in investments in mid-market companies across technology, information services, healthcare, and financial services, utilizing data and product engineering to accelerate growth.

For TailorMed, the transaction serves as a foundation for broadening its solution suite and potentially pursuing further acquisitions. "The acquirer sees us as having the potential to build a new category," Dvorsksy noted. "We will serve as the anchor of the platform, and they may acquire additional companies to integrate with us." TailorMed counts Sanara, Triventures, Accelmed, Allumia Ventures, Almeda Ventures, Bridges Israel, BrightEdge, Discount Capital, OSF Ventures, Citi Impact Fund, and Windham Ventures among its investors.
