MK Gotliv Calls for Shin Bet Probe into Alleged Qatari Election Meddling
MK Tally Gotliv urged Shin Bet and Mossad to investigate alleged Qatari interference in Israeli elections, describing the affair as a major national security threat.

MK Tally Gotliv of Otzma Yehudit stated that the suspected Qatari interference in Israeli elections constitutes a major security threat requiring investigation by intelligence agencies rather than police alone.
Speaking in a radio interview, Gotliv characterized the situation as a major security incident orchestrated by external actors, asserting that conventional police forces lack the investigative tools required for such a case.
"We are facing a mega-terror attack by Qatar in Israel. A mega-terror attack," Gotliv declared, emphasizing that the probe should be handed over to Shin Bet and Mossad to utilize their specialized resources.
Gotliv dismissed attempts to downplay the suspicions as minor financial offenses involving fuel cards or small sums of money, warning that the public is being misled about the gravity of the affair.
Addressing election integrity, Gotliv clarified that she is not claiming the elections were entirely illegitimate, but insisted there are concrete suspicions of foreign intervention based on structured intelligence data.
Commenting on legal procedures, the lawmaker noted that final election results must be published within eight days under current law, after which petitions can be filed with the District Court to potentially challenge the outcome.
Turning to coalition politics, Gotliv called on opposition figures to align with right-wing principles, stressing that any future government must be committed to a firm nationalist agenda rather than broad centrist compromises.
