MK Tali Gotliv, recently positioned second on the Otzma Yehudit party list, has outlined her sweeping agenda for her first day in office if appointed minister of justice following the upcoming elections.

Gotliv Outlines Justice Ministry Agenda

Speaking on Radio Galei Israel, Gotliv made it clear she would not hesitate to exercise ministerial authority over civil servants and legal authorities. "What do I do as minister of justice? First of all, I use the powers I have. I have the authority to institute disciplinary proceedings against officials in the Ministry of Justice who have behaved improperly. The attorney general should be fired—after all, she has passed retirement age, why is she still there?"

Gotliv launched a sharp attack against Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara, accusing her of submitting a false affidavit to the Supreme Court regarding investigative procedures. Gotliv stated she would immediately summon her for an explanation, warning that failure to justify her actions would result in a fourteen-day suspension.

Ben Gvir's Post-Election Demands

Gotliv's remarks follow statements by National Security Minister and Otzma Yehudit leader Itamar Ben Gvir, who criticized Justice Minister Yariv Levin for lacking decisiveness and laid out his party's demands for the next government.

"What do I do as minister of justice? First of all, I use the powers I have. I have the authority to institute disciplinary proceedings against officials in the Ministry of Justice who have behaved improperly."

Ben Gvir has demanded the defense portfolio to implement four core principles: encouraging Palestinian emigration, dismantling the Palestinian Authority's security apparatus, conditioning security cooperation with Egypt and Jordan on strict reciprocity, and drastically easing open-fire regulations for IDF and police forces.

Additionally, Ben Gvir announced that Yitzhak Wasserlauf would take over the Ministry of National Security, while adopting a more conciliatory stance on ultra-Orthodox military conscription, supporting continued yeshiva studies alongside integration frameworks like ultra-Orthodox border police units. Gotliv's prominent placement in Otzma Yehudit highlights judicial reform and a direct confrontation with the legal establishment as central pillars of the party's upcoming election campaign.
