Lod Court Rejects Tally Gotliv Immunity Bid in Bressler Defamation Lawsuit

MK Tally Gotliv exited the Lod District Court on Monday following a hearing in a 2.6 million NIS defamation lawsuit filed against her by protest activist Shikma Bressler.

The Defamation Lawsuit and Immunity

Bressler filed the massive lawsuit following a series of false and offensive publications by Gotliv, who claimed that Bressler's husband, a Shin Bet employee, spoke with Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar and coordinated the October 7 massacre. Gotliv requested that the court dismiss the lawsuit on the grounds of parliamentary immunity, but the Lod District Court rejected her request.

Gotliv also faces a criminal indictment for exposing the identity of the security official. While the government approved her request for immunity in that criminal proceeding, the civil lawsuit is moving forward.

Attacks on Leadership and New Political Alliance

Upon leaving the courtroom, Gotliv launched a scathing attack on Defense Minister Israel Katz and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, while praising her new political home.

"The damage caused to me by Israel Katz with his signature on the confidentiality certificate is enormous and horrifying," Gotliv stated. "Netanyahu, whom I guarded and will guard at all costs, played into Bressler's hands and did not keep me at spot number 12 in the Likud list."

Gotliv announced her transition to the Otzma Yehudit party led by National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, where she has been placed second on the electoral list for the upcoming Knesset elections.
