Anastasya Gorbenko continues to set a new benchmark in competitive swimming. Representing the University of Louisville, the Israeli national team swimmer clocked the fastest time in history in the 100-yard individual medley, touching the wall in 51.43 seconds.

The remarkable achievement took place at the fourth meet of the new American Collegiate Swimming League (CSL). Gorbenko shaved 54 hundredths of a second off the previous record of 51.97 seconds, set by American swimmer Kate Douglass in 2023. Although the historic time will not be officially recognized as a world record—as World Aquatics does not track records in yard pools—it stands as a monumental milestone.

Following this victory, Gorbenko now holds two of the ten fastest times in history for this event, ranking first and fourth. The crowning achievement capped off a stellar performance in which she also triumphed in the 200-yard breaststroke, setting a personal best and league record, and secured another win in the 100-yard breaststroke.
