Violent clashes erupted in central Frankfurt and several other German cities on Saturday following youth-led demonstrations organized by the "GenZ regelt!" movement. While most protests across Germany remained peaceful, rioters looted stores, threw Molotov cocktails, and launched fireworks at police officers, injuring several law enforcement personnel.

In Frankfurt, approximately 8,000 people participated in the demonstration. According to Hesse Interior Minister Roman Poseck, around 100 radical-left rioters hijacked the protest, heavily attacking police with stones, pyrotechnics, and bottles. Rioters breached downtown shopping areas, looting sports shops and reportedly a gun store. Police deployed water cannons and a helicopter, arresting several suspects and seizing firearms.

Similar disturbances occurred in Hamburg, Cologne, Leipzig, and Berlin, where demonstrators clashed with police, set barricades on fire, and chanted pro-Palestinian and anti-Israel slogans. Protesters also voiced opposition to Germany's military buildup and Chancellor Friedrich Merz's defense policies. Meanwhile, parallel demonstrations in France drew hundreds of thousands of participants, resulting in widespread clashes, arrests, and injuries to police officers in Paris and Lyon.
