Gefen Primo Eliminated Early at Judo World Championships in Baku
Gefen Primo was eliminated early from the Judo World Championships in Baku after a second-round defeat in the under-52 kg category against local judoka Gultaj Mammadaliyeva.

Gefen Primo ended her journey at the Judo World Championships early on Monday, suffering a defeat in the second round of the under-52 kg weight category. The 26-year-old judoka arrived at the prestigious tournament in Baku ranked 11th in the world and received a bye to the second round, where she lost to local competitor Gultaj Mammadaliyeva, ranked 40th globally.
After a tight match, Primo managed to score with a successful move with only 40 seconds left on the clock. However, the Azerbaijani fighter attacked and, 19 seconds later, secured a waza-ari that paved her way to victory. The Israeli judoka continues to struggle against Mammadaliyeva, bringing their head-to-head record to 3-0 in favor of the Azerbaijani.
The World Championships kicked off yesterday, with Itzhak Ashpiz, who carried high hopes, also being eliminated early in the competition.
