Three years to the day after the October 7 massacre, the organizers of the Gaza flotilla that featured climate activist Greta Thunberg have targeted the West Bank.

According to an expose by the Ministry of Diaspora Affairs and Combating Antisemitism, the organization is recruiting foreign activists to arrive in the region ahead of the upcoming olive harvest season. The deadline for submitting applications was set for October 7.

Global Sumud Flotilla Recruitment

The initiative is led by the Global Sumud Flotilla organization. Intelligence gathered by the ministry's national command center indicates that volunteers are being recruited for a program requiring a stay of at least two weeks, direct action training, as well as political and media workshops.

Participants are required to commit to ongoing political activity upon returning to their home countries. The program aims to transform participants into catalysts for further mobilization, framed as part of a broader confrontation with Zionism.

"The State of Israel will not serve as a playground for foreign anarchists. Anyone seeking to arrive here as part of an organized mechanism aiming to provoke, disrupt public order, and act against Israel will be identified and addressed through all legal means," stated Diaspora Ministry Director-General Avi Cohen-Scali.

International Campaigns for the Olive Harvest

The ministry noted that this campaign aligns with other international mobilization efforts ahead of the 2026 olive harvest season. Organizations such as Go Palestine, Protect the Harvest, Faz3a, and the International Solidarity Movement are framing their activities as a protective presence alongside Palestinian communities.

The registration page indicates that candidates facing financial difficulties can request assistance, with many participants relying on crowdfunding. The organization also addressed potential entry bans, advising applicants that travel history, public political activity, and passport type could impact their ability to enter Israel.
