Garmin launches the fēnix 9 series in Israel with LTE, satellite connectivity, and prices starting at 4,399 NIS
The new generation of GPS and multisport watches comes in three models, with brighter AMOLED screens, more memory, upgraded maps, and up to 124 days of battery life in solar models. The sports watch company Garmin is launching its new series.
Garmin launched the fēnix 9 series on Tuesday in Israel, the new generation of its smart GPS and multisport watches. The series includes three models — fēnix 9, fēnix 9 Pro, and fēnix 9 Pro Connected — with recommended retail prices starting at 4,399 NIS and reaching over 6,000 NIS, depending on the model.
The new series is designed for athletes, hikers, and outdoor enthusiasts, featuring a new processor, increased memory, an upgraded map engine, and a titanium frame and body depending on the model. The Connected versions include built-in satellite connectivity and LTE, alongside software updates and new endurance metrics across the entire series.
The fēnix 9 model is equipped with an AMOLED screen that is twice as bright as the previous generation, scratch-resistant sapphire glass, water-sealed buttons, and water resistance for diving up to 40 meters. A new feature, Garmin Epic, allows users to combine several activities into one story in Garmin Connect, add photos, and share their experiences.
Regarding training, Garmin is expanding Stamina Tracking with Stamina Zones and Stamina Curve, which show how endurance changes over time based on fitness improvements and training history. VO2 Max data and a power curve for rowing workouts have also been added, as well as improved Rucking capabilities that allow users to change carrying weight during activity, track GoRuck workouts, and set target metrics.
Maps have also received an upgrade: the fēnix 9 includes 50% more RAM compared to the fēnix 8 and a map engine that allows for scrolling and navigation at speeds up to 30% faster. The Perspective View display adds detail to the route, and with 64GB of memory, users can download twice as many maps and store up to 7,000 songs directly on the watch. The model is available in 43 mm, 47 mm, and 51 mm sizes.
The fēnix 9 Pro model includes all fēnix 9 capabilities and, for the first time in the series, adds a full titanium watch body. It is manufactured using Nano-Molding technology, which combines metal and polymer at the molecular level to reduce thickness while maintaining a low weight.
AMOLED screens in the fēnix 9 Pro models reach a brightness of up to 3,000 nits. The 51 mm model features a 1.5-inch AMOLED screen, which is 15% larger than the fēnix 8 without increasing the watch body size. Selected Pro models offer solar charging, and the built-in LED flashlight includes a green light mode to help maintain night vision.
The fēnix 9 Pro Connected model adds built-in satellite connectivity and LTE, enabling calls, text messages, and SOS alerts directly from the wrist without phone dependence. LiveTrack is available via Garmin Messenger, allowing family and friends to track the user during activities. Additionally, weather forecasts for specific locations can be received directly on the watch via satellite and LTE. inReach connectivity is available in all three sizes.
According to Garmin, the Connected series includes models with solar charging that provide up to 57 hours of activity and up to 124 days in battery saver mode when worn for 3 hours a day in sunlight. The fēnix 9 offers up to 29 days of battery life in smartwatch mode, while fēnix 9 Pro models offer up to 31 days.
The fēnix 9 series is available for purchase in Israel at the Garmin store chain and authorized retailers.
