Gal Rubin Under Fire: "Comparing Daughter's Bullying to Reality TV Is Unnecessary"
Big Brother winner Gal Rubin revealed that her daughter is facing a severe social boycott. However, her attempt to draw parallels between her daughter's trauma and her own experience on the reality show has sparked backlash.
The winner of "Big Brother," Gal Rubin, shared on Monday that her daughter is dealing with a severe social boycott. Rubin posted a story revealing the distressing messages and recordings her daughter received. Among the harsh words that hurt the child was a recording stating: "You are one of the smelliest; I hope you get into an accident with your scooter and burn in hell."
Rubin explained that the issue is currently being handled and expressed solidarity with many parents facing similar phenomena. Reflecting on the situation, she drew a connection between her daughter's experience and the personal ordeal she went through on camera:
"It's ironic that I have to deal with this as a mother. I think many mothers face this, and after everything I went through in the Big Brother house, I receive many messages about various experiences within our society. I was there, and a social lynching was orchestrated against me, yet we are surprised by the headlines about what is happening with our youth."
The reactions were swift. One came from Tal Tito, who spent time with Rubin in the house. During an Instagram Q&A, she was asked for her thoughts on the matter and chose to dismiss the comparison.
"The main reason for this, in my opinion, is that this generation sees everything in a highly accessible way on social media, and it's a snowball effect that cannot be stopped. Most, if not all, of the harsh comments I and many others receive come precisely from people aged 50 and older—and that is a huge red flag!"
"Before pointing fingers at today's generation, perhaps we should talk about the language that older generations tend to use online and in the streets. Children don't just learn to speak this way; they are a result of a much deeper cause existing in our society. I was shocked by the recording Gal published, and my heart goes out to her daughter. I hope Gal, who knows how to fight for things, manages to secure justice and peace for her sweet daughter. However, comparing this to her experience on Big Brother is unnecessary. Her daughter's story is much more important and serious than a few people fighting over fruit in the budget."
