The conflict began in 2024 when Rubin was in a relationship with Modi Tzipori, which sparked headlines due to his non-Jewish background. At the time, Sher Fitness sent Rubin a message urging her to open her eyes and marry a Jewish man. Rubin fired back sharply, noting her difficult past marriage and defending her personal choices, mentioning several other public figures with non-Jewish partners.
In the two years since, Rubin and Tzipori have parted ways, and Rubin even stated she would not enter a relationship with a non-Jewish partner again. With the personal changes and the approach of Yom Kippur, the conditions for a reconciliation finally ripened.
