Gal Gadot Blows Shofar on Jimmy Kimmel and Promotes New Film
Gal Gadot appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to discuss her new film, demonstrate blowing a shofar for Rosh Hashanah, and address recent anti-Israel boycotts.
International actress Gal Gadot brought a touch of Rosh Hashanah to American late-night television during her appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Thursday. During the interview, Gadot shared holiday traditions, confessed her surprising fondness for gefilte fish thanks to horseradish, and even pulled out a shofar to demonstrate blowing it live on air.
Gadot explained the spiritual meaning of the custom to Kimmel, saying, "The mitzvah is to hear the shofar. It is supposed to awaken the soul for a good year and bring everyone together."
The studio visit was part of the promotional tour for her new film, in which she portrays a mother trying to rescue her kidnapped son. The demanding role required intense daily running through the streets of London and even resulted in a broken foot just days before filming wrapped. "In the first week, I did way more than 100,000 steps," Gadot shared regarding the physical effort required.
Gadot's international exposure comes against the backdrop of a grim wave of boycotts and anti-Israel attacks targeting Israeli creators and artists abroad. Recently, the cinema star faced harsh online attacks following a post on the official page of the Ralph Lauren fashion house. The photo triggered thousands of angry comments and calls to boycott the brand from anti-Israel users, alongside strong support from fans who reminded critics that the fashion house's founder is Jewish.
