Double Lotto Winner of 10 Million Shekels: "First Thing We'll Do Is Pay Off the Mortgage"
A resident of central Israel who won 10 million shekels shared his modest plans for the future. The winner intends to maintain his current lifestyle while treating his family, including his son serving in the IDF.

About two weeks after the draw that yielded a 10 million shekel win in the Double Lotto, the lucky winner arrived at the Mifal HaPais headquarters to share his story. The winner, a man in his 50s, explained that he plays the lottery weekly using a set of numbers he has been using for some time.
"I went to the stand to submit a new ticket and asked the owner to check the previous one I had filled out," he shared. While the system indicated a significant win, the exact amount remained a mystery until he scanned the ticket himself.
"The scan showed I had won 10 million. I was very excited, and the first phone call was to my wife—I told her: I won the lottery," he recalled.
The couple decided to keep the news private for a while. "It took us some time to digest the news, and we kept it between the two of us. We have a son who is a combat soldier, and I am just waiting for him to come home to tell him the happy news," he said with emotion.
Regarding his plans for the future, he noted that he does not intend to change his lifestyle drastically:
"The first thing my wife and I will do is pay off the mortgage. We will maintain our normal lives and treat ourselves a little more with trips abroad."
