Gadi Eisenkot met with entrepreneurs: A promise to rehabilitate the North
The chairman of the "Yashar!" party visited Margalit Startup City in Kiryat Shmona, met with business owners, and declared that the rehabilitation of the North would be a top priority for his future government. The visit highlighted innovation and growth activities ongoing in the Galilee since the start of the war.
Chairman of the "Yashar!" party and candidate for Prime Minister, Gadi Eisenkot, visited the Margalit Startup City Galil in Kiryat Shmona today, where he was hosted by Erel Margalit, founder and chairman of JVP and Margalit Startup City. During the tour, Eisenkot met with entrepreneurs, business owners, high-tech representatives, and members of the Galiladies community, learning about the recovery and growth activities led by the center since the outbreak of the war.
During the visit, the initiatives built in the Galilee in recent years were presented, combining entrepreneurship, innovation, research, academia, education, and community development. According to the data, even before the war, more than 100 startups operated at Margalit Startup City Galil, and since the end of the active conflict, over 30 companies have returned to the region, alongside continued investment in small businesses and local communities.
Eisenkot addressed the recovery challenges and stated:
"Strengthening the North and ensuring its prosperity has many stages, starting with security and protection, through returning residents to their homes, to educational frameworks, and caring for their livelihoods. This is a national and security mission of the highest order."
He noted that he has toured the towns of the North dozens of times in recent weeks to meet with residents and local leadership. He added:
"In the coming days we will publish the comprehensive 'Yashar!' plan for the recovery of the North, and when we form the next government – the North, its recovery and prosperity will stand high at the top of our priorities. To ensure the future of the North, the state is obligated to invest in long-term growth engines and in real recovery. No more empty statements, only goals and execution."
Erel Margalit stated that the goal is to turn the Galilee into a significant growth hub for Israel:
"I was happy to host Gadi Eisenkot today at Margalit Startup City Galil and show him that tomorrow is already being built here. The Galilee can be one of the greatest growth engines of the State of Israel, and when you connect vision, innovation, entrepreneurship, and partnership – the results come."
Margalit added that at a time when residents and entrepreneurs are facing complex realities, the responsibility is to provide them with the tools and hope needed for real recovery. The two discussed the need to accelerate the return of residents, jobs, and investments, emphasizing that long-term investment in innovation and infrastructure is essential for the region.
