Beaten with fists and kicks: two police officers charged with violent assault of Tel Sheva residents

The Department of Internal Police Investigations (DIPI) has filed an indictment against two National Guard officers in the Southern District for assault causing actual bodily harm under aggravating circumstances. The indictment was filed at the Magistrate's Court in Be'er Sheva by Adv. Naama Lazmi.

According to the indictment, the two officers violently and unlawfully assaulted two residents of the Bedouin town of Tel Sheva, causing them actual bodily harm.

The incident occurred about seven months ago during a mobile patrol in Tel Sheva. The officers approached the two complainants who were standing in the street, exited their vehicle, and performed a body search without legal authority.

During the incident, defendant 1 wore tactical gloves with hard plastic inserts and attacked one of the complainants with fists and kicks. He knocked the victim to the ground and continued to strike his upper body until he noticed the victim's face was bleeding. The complainant's glasses and mobile phone were shattered during the assault.

At the same time, defendant 2 ordered the second complainant to stand against a wall, conducted an unauthorized search, and kicked him forcefully in the legs and testicles. After the complainant fell to the ground, the defendant continued to kick him repeatedly.

Following the incident, the officers left the scene, leaving the two complainants bleeding and bruised. It is alleged that they later returned to the area to locate security cameras that might have recorded the assault.

Both complainants required medical treatment for bruises, swelling, cuts, and severe spinal sensitivity.

The investigation was conducted by the Southern team of the Department of Internal Police Investigations.
