Flydubai maintains ten daily flights between Dubai and Tel Aviv, remaining a key aviation link for Israel despite regional conflicts and European flight suspensions.
Flydubai, a central carrier connecting the Arabian Peninsula, has remained one of the most active airlines operating in Israel over recent years. While major European carriers suspended flights due to security concerns or crew reluctance to layover in Tel Aviv, Flydubai maintained regular scheduled flights throughout three years of regional conflicts involving Israel and the Persian Gulf.
Strategic Hub and Operations
For many travelers in Israel, Dubai International Airport has served as a primary transit hub to Asia and other distant destinations, while Abu Dhabi has emerged as a major tourist hotspot in its own right. Flydubai is a low-cost carrier owned by the Investment Corporation of Dubai (ICD), alongside the national carrier Emirates, operating out of one of the world's largest aviation hubs.
Despite disruptions and drone threats following regional tensions involving the US, Israel, and Iran, traffic at the Dubai hub has since resumed normally. Currently, Flydubai alone operates up to ten daily flights between Dubai and Tel Aviv.
Fleet, Workforce, and Pilot Compensation
According to company data, Flydubai operates a fleet of 88 aircraft serving 131 destinations. The airline employs over 7,000 workers, including approximately 1,520 pilots from various nationalities.
Recruitment platforms indicate monthly salaries ranging between 10,000 and 20,000 dollars for pilots, including tax exemptions and housing allowances that typically translate into company-provided accommodation in the United Arab Emirates.
Industry observers note that unlike the stringent labor regulations enforced by the European Union, the aviation authority of the United Arab Emirates permits more flexible rest schedules and higher working hours for flight crews. The majority of the airline's current destinations remain within short-to-medium-haul ranges.
