UAE Launches Probe Into Flydubai Cockpit Incident as Israel Cites Terror
The UAE Attorney General has launched a special investigation into a cockpit incident on a Flydubai flight to Israel. Israeli officials termed it a terror attack.

The UAE Attorney General has ordered a special investigation team to examine the incident aboard a Flydubai flight bound for Israel, following an official announcement by the Emirates News Agency WAM. Authorities are investigating whether the incident constituted a terrorist act.
Investigation and Security Response
The move follows a Flydubai statement detailing a confrontation inside the cockpit that required crew members to intervene and secure the aircraft. The investigation team has begun its work in coordination with the General Civil Aviation Authority and relevant national bodies.
The Attorney General directed that all necessary steps be taken to gather information and evidence, determine the truth of the incident, its circumstances, and motives, and examine whether there is a connection to terrorist activities.
Return of Passengers and Official Reactions
After hours of tension, 174 Israeli passengers from the flight, which was diverted to Saudi Arabia, landed at Ben Gurion Airport. One passenger, a 51-year-old man, was evacuated in mild condition with chest bruises. Defense Minister Israel Katz stated that the incident was a jihadist terror attack aimed at crashing the plane.
