Documented attacking Palestinians in IDF uniform - and arrested after a month on the run

A suspect in his 20s, who was documented wearing an IDF uniform and attacking Palestinians in Huwara, was arrested early Wednesday morning in the Samaria area after being on the run for the last month. The suspect, a resident of the area and a member of a rapid response team in Judea and Samaria, was transferred for interrogation and the weapons in his possession were seized.
The incident occurred on July 6 in Huwara. Following a report of a severe assault, IDF forces were called to the scene, and later investigators from the Judea and Samaria District entered the area under security and began collecting evidence.
In the footage circulated from the incident, a suspect whose identity was initially unknown is seen wearing an IDF uniform and equipped with military gear, including an M16 rifle and a handgun. According to the investigation, he violently attacked Palestinians, some of whom required medical treatment at a hospital.
During the investigation, several suspects were arrested, and an indictment was filed against one of those involved in the attack. As the investigation progressed, investigators from the inter-agency headquarters in the Judea and Samaria District managed to uncover the identity of the additional suspect.
Early this morning, detectives from the headquarters, together with Border Police fighters from Judea and Samaria and the Shin Bet, conducted an operation and arrested the suspect in the Samaria area. He was transferred for interrogation, and the police are expected to request an extension of his detention to continue the investigation.
