Israeli Pride in France: Pair Wins Medal at World Championship
After a series of victories over leading teams at a prestigious tournament in France, the Israeli players recorded an impressive international achievement, losing only in the semi-finals to the Brazilians, and are now returning to the local league on the beach of Tel Aviv.
Footvolley is a beach game that combines football and volleyball. Invented in Brazil in the 60s, it is played without using hands and has become very popular on the beaches of Israel and in Tel Aviv. Leading Israeli footvolley players Ron Ben Ishai and Maor Haas finished in third place at the Footvolley World Championship.
Last year, Ben Ishai also won third place in the prestigious tournament alongside Lee Liberman. Now he has reached this significant milestone alongside his partner for league games in Tel Aviv, Maor Haas, with whom he has also won a series of prominent international titles in the past, including European championships.

In the annual tournament held in Antibes, France, the pair took home a bronze medal after losing in the semi-finals to the Brazilian pair of Elitinio and Franklin in two sets, both ending with a score of 18:13.
In the quarter-finals, the Israeli pair defeated a pair from Paraguay, and in the group stage, they overcame teams from France, Spain, and Switzerland. The Brazilian pair that defeated the Israelis lost in the final to another Brazilian duo, Tabinho and Gui.

The two are returning to compete in the XI MOBILITY footvolley league, organized by the Association for the Promotion of Footvolley and the Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality, sponsored by the electric transport company XI MOBILITY.
