Fiat Unveils Watermelon-Inspired Multiplay Concept at Paris Motor Show
Fiat unveiled the Multiplay concept car at the Paris Motor Show, featuring a watermelon-inspired design, transformable body, and innovative features for families and pets.

Italian car manufacturer Fiat has unveiled one of its most intriguing recent models at the Paris Motor Show: the Multiplay, a new concept car inspired by a watermelon. The vibrant green exterior mimics the fruit's rind, while the cabin features red and pink tones reminiscent of its interior.
Innovative Design and Versatility
Beneath the eccentric color scheme lies a clever concept. Measuring just 4.45 meters in length, the vehicle merges three distinct categories: a spacious family car, an SUV, and a pickup truck. Through a unique sliding mechanism in the rear, it can transform from a six-seater family vehicle into a four-seater pickup with an open cargo bed. Even the rear spoiler can rotate to double as a two-bike rack.
Pet owners also received special attention. Fiat developed the Petsenger seat, combining a child safety seat, a dedicated pet space, and storage. Part of the cushion serves as a leash, and a collapsible water bowl is hidden in the door.
Production Prospects
Fiat clarified that the model is currently experimental. However, brand CEO Olivier Francois indicated that the company is advancing a new minivan based on Multiplay concepts, with a production version expected around 2028-2029.
