FBI Arrests Los Angeles Man Over Plot to Attack Jewish Kindergarten
FBI arrested 51-year-old Steven Doanias in Los Angeles for plotting a mass terrorist attack on a Jewish kindergarten using Molotov cocktails and posting antisemitic threats online.
A 51-year-old US citizen from Los Angeles, Steven Doanias, was arrested by the FBI and charged in federal court after plotting a mass terrorist attack at a Jewish kindergarten using Molotov cocktails.
According to the indictment, Doanias published a series of antisemitic statements and explicit threats on the social network X, writing that "not enough synagogues were burned" and threatening to set fire to the Jems Jewish kindergarten located in the Los Feliz neighborhood. In one of the posts, he displayed a Molotov cocktail against the backdrop of footage showing the burning Twin Towers and called on users to join the war.
The arrest took place on October 2, 2026, and a search of his home uncovered materials for making Molotov cocktails, including a glass bottle containing fuel. During the court hearing, where he appeared in handcuffs, the defendant burst into tears.
His mother, who lived with him, claimed in an exclusive interview that her son suffers from bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and deep depression, which worsened following a divorce and termination from his municipal job, leading to severe addiction to alcohol and prescription drugs. She emphasized that these actions do not characterize him and that he was never raised to hate. Doanias's trial is scheduled to continue on November 10.
