Two people were killed this morning in a traffic accident involving two trucks on Highway 60 in Samaria. Firefighters extracted the victims from the vehicles, but MADA teams pronounced both dead.

Two people were killed this morning (Monday) in a traffic accident between two trucks on Highway 60, near the settlement of Rehelim in Samaria. The two were extracted from the trucks by firefighters from the Fire and Rescue Authority, and a MADA team pronounced one of them dead at the scene. The second was evacuated in serious condition, but shortly thereafter his death was also pronounced.

Reshef Omer Hamed, a shift commander at the Fire and Rescue Authority, said:

"This is a lethal and complex scene. We arrived at the scene, and while assessing the situation, I understood that there were two trapped individuals, one inside each truck. We carried out the rescue quickly, using specialized rescue tools."

Shortly before that, a 25-year-old motorcyclist was seriously injured on the section near the settlement of Ofra on Highway 60. MADA teams summoned to the scene evacuated him to Hadassah Mount Scopus Hospital in Jerusalem, suffering from multi-system trauma.

In Tel Aviv, a man in his 40s riding an electric scooter was seriously injured this morning while riding on Derech Shlomo in the south of the city. MADA teams summoned to the scene evacuated him to Ichilov Hospital, suffering from a head injury. During the night, a female pedestrian in her 40s was seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle in Kiryat Motzkin, and she was evacuated to Rambam Hospital in Haifa.

Yesterday, a 35-year-old man was killed in a traffic accident between a private car and a minibus on Highway 98, near the Afik junction in the southern Golan Heights. A MADA team pronounced the death of one of the victims, and evacuated 9 other injured people to the hospital, including a man in his 30s in moderate condition with limb injuries and 8 in light condition.
