Etihad Airways has expanded its operations in Israel to six daily flights, offering Israeli travelers convenient connecting flights to Hong Kong via Abu Dhabi. This new route serves as a viable alternative for passengers seeking to reach the Asian destination, following the suspension of direct daily flights from Tel Aviv.
According to the airline, the enhanced schedule at Ben Gurion International Airport provides seamless connections to Hong Kong with layover times of under three hours at Abu Dhabi International Airport in both directions. Fares start at $1,176, depending on the travel dates and ticket category.
Out of the six daily flights operated by Etihad from Tel Aviv to Abu Dhabi, two afternoon departures provide direct connections to the night flight to Hong Kong. Flights EY594 and EY608 depart from Ben Gurion at 14:00 and 14:25, landing in Abu Dhabi at 19:05 and 19:25 respectively.
Passengers can then board flight EY870, which departs Abu Dhabi at 21:10 and arrives in Hong Kong at 08:40 the following morning. Layover durations between the flights range from 1 hour and 45 minutes to 2 hours and 5 minutes.
Return connections are equally streamlined. Flight EY871 departs Hong Kong at 19:45 and lands in Abu Dhabi at 00:30 the next day. Connecting flights back to Israel, EY609 and EY595, depart at 02:45 and 03:25, following a transit time of 2 hours and 15 minutes to 2 hours and 55 minutes.
Regarding pricing, tickets for November flights departing on November 14 start at $1,176 for a basic fare excluding checked baggage. Passengers requiring a checked bag weighing up to 25 kilograms will pay upwards of $1,311, subject to availability and fare conditions.
Additionally, Etihad offers a stopover program for travelers wishing to extend their layover in Abu Dhabi. Passengers booking round-trip tickets on the airline's website are eligible for up to two free nights at participating hotels on their way to or from Hong Kong.
During their stay in Abu Dhabi, travelers can explore major local attractions such as the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, the Louvre Abu Dhabi, and the coastal promenade, or simply rest at the hotel before continuing their journey.
