Mistakenly marked herself as a "terrorist" on the UK entry form - and was denied boarding

Yuval Mizrahi, an Israeli woman who planned a vacation in London, was not allowed to board her flight after she mistakenly marked herself as a "terrorist" instead of a "tourist" on the online entry form (ETA). The incident occurred at the airport under time pressure, as she was filling out the forms quickly. In an interview with the program "The World This Morning," Mizrahi shared: "I was told that my entry would not be conducive to the public good."

The main problem was that the decision was made by a completely computerized system, without any possibility to correct the simple human error or appeal the decision in real time. The mistake, which occurred under heavy time pressure before boarding, turned her in one moment from an innocent tourist into a potential security risk in the eyes of the algorithm. It turns out that the case is not rare, as others have encountered the same problem: "I am not the only one this happened to; I received dozens of responses and messages from people who had the same thing happen to them."
