Elbit Systems continues its strategic expansion in Morocco, with its local subsidiary MMI scheduled to supply tank turrets starting this March. The development underscores deepening defense cooperation following the Abraham Accords.

Strategic Defense Cooperation

According to reports from Morocco Mail, Moroccan-based MMI will manufacture and supply turrets for the Royal Armed Forces' 8x8 armored vehicles, locally assembled by India's Tata. Over the past five years, Israel has positioned itself as Morocco's second-largest defense import source, capturing roughly 24% of total acquisitions.

The collaboration reflects Morocco's growing push for military self-reliance, extending beyond Rafael and Israel Aerospace Industries to include extensive projects by Elbit Systems.

Iranian Diplomatic Friction

In regional developments, former Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif sparked intense backlash in Tehran following remarks criticizing the regime's military aggression. Zarif argued that Tehran must prioritize diplomacy over military proxies, drawing sharp rebukes from conservative outlets like Kayhan.

Gulf Energy Flows

Meanwhile, oil markets experienced a brief surge in US-bound shipments from Gulf states following a temporary lull in hostilities in the Strait of Hormuz, according to data from Kpler and AGBI reports.
