Two Elad Residents Arrested for Attacking Municipal Officials' Homes and Cars
Two Elad residents were arrested for allegedly throwing a stun grenade at the city CEO's home and torching a municipal official's car over enforcement actions.

Two residents of Elad, in their 20s and 30s, were arrested overnight Thursday on suspicion of involvement in throwing a stun grenade at the home of the Elad municipality CEO and torching the vehicle of the mayor's bureau chief. According to police, both incidents were targeted against municipal officials against the backdrop of enforcement activities carried out by the city against the suspects.
The incidents occurred on Wednesday evening, when police first received a report regarding a stun grenade thrown toward the fence of the municipality CEO's home. Officers from the Rosh HaAyin police station launched searches, and shortly afterward, another report was received concerning a fire that engulfed the vehicle of the mayor's bureau chief. A preliminary investigation indicated that the blaze was a deliberate arson attack.
As part of the ongoing investigation, authorities established a link between the two incidents, determining that the motive stemmed from municipal enforcement measures directed at the suspects. Following investigative steps by Rosh HaAyin officers, the two suspects were apprehended and transferred to the Sharon Central Unit for questioning. They were subsequently remanded in custody, and police are slated to bring them before the court to request an extension of their detention.
