El Al Expands Direct Flights Between Tel Aviv and London Heathrow for Winter
El Al Israel Airlines announced an expansion of its direct flights to London Heathrow for the 2026-2027 winter season, adding three weekly flights and offering up to twenty weekly flights total to the British capital.
El Al Israel Airlines is set to expand its direct flight offerings between Israel and London for the upcoming winter season, increasing its operations to Heathrow Airport. The schedule change will add three weekly flights, operating alongside the airline's existing schedule to the British capital.
The expansion will take effect on October 26, 2026, and continue through March 25, 2027. The three additional flights are scheduled for Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, providing passengers with more options for business travel, visits, and vacations during the winter months. El Al currently operates approximately ten weekly flights on the Tel Aviv-Heathrow route.
New Flight Schedule and Aircraft Details
According to the schedule published by the company, flight LY209 will depart from Tel Aviv at 11:00 AM toward London. In the opposite direction, flight LY210 will depart Heathrow at 4:20 PM toward Israel. These hours will apply to the new service added on the three selected days.
A central part of El Al's operation on the London route is carried out using wide-body aircraft. The company operates Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft on this route, as well as refurbished Boeing 777 aircraft from its fleet.
"The combination of these aircraft allows El Al to increase seating capacity on the route alongside expanding the number of weekly flights," company representatives noted.
Comprehensive Winter Operations
In addition to its Heathrow operations, the company continues to operate flights to Luton Airport, located near London. Combined with operations at both airports, El Al is expected to offer up to twenty weekly flights between Tel Aviv and London this winter.
El Al is not the only company operating the direct route between Israel and the British capital. Israeli carriers Israir and Arkia also operate flights on the route, alongside Hungarian low-cost airline Wizz Air. The addition announced by El Al is expected to further expand flight availability for passengers throughout the winter season.
