The current summer season has begun with optimism, and record passenger numbers have already been broken at Ben Gurion Airport. After two years of ongoing uncertainty, this season has brought great news for Israelis who are flocking to their long-awaited summer vacations. In the meantime, many are already planning their next getaway for the Tishrei holiday season.

El Al announced on Tuesday an increase in service on its direct route between Tel Aviv and Tokyo (Narita). The company stated that 7–8 additional flights will be operated during September and October 2026 to meet the growing demand for this destination.

The additional flights will depart from Tel Aviv on September 28 and 30, and on October 5, 12, 13, 17, 19, 21, 24, and 26–28. Return flights from Narita will operate on October 6–7, 13, 20, 22, and 27–29. Tickets for these new flights are already available on the company's website, with prices starting at $868 one way.

As a reminder, recent days have seen critical disruptions at Ben Gurion Airport affecting baggage handling and check-in counters. Passengers are advised to arrive at the airport at least 3 hours before their scheduled departure.
