Eitan Mor, a survivor of Hamas captivity, has made a profound personal decision ahead of Rosh Hashanah: to remove the tattoos from his body. Mor explained that this step stems from a deep gratitude to God for saving him from the inferno in the Gaza Strip and a strong hope to begin a process of inner cleansing.
The timing chosen by Mor gives the decision even greater significance. Just before Rosh Hashanah, a period associated with soul-searching, renewal, and fresh starts, Mor sought to carry out a decision he had made earlier. From his perspective, removing the tattoos is part of a desire to leave the past behind and make room for a new personal and spiritual journey.

«I took it upon myself before Rosh Hashanah to remove the tattoos, essentially to thank God for saving me from the inferno in Gaza, and I am removing these tattoos before the holiday, before Rosh Hashanah, in the hope that God will give me the strength for an inner cleansing.»
