Eilat Driver Arrested for Driving While Suspended for the Ninth Time
Eilat municipal police arrested a 40-year-old new driver caught operating a vehicle while suspended for the ninth time, facing 23 prior traffic convictions.

Eilat municipal police arrested a 40-year-old driver on Wednesday during an enforcement operation after discovering he was driving with a suspended license for the ninth time. The suspect, categorized as a new driver with a license issued in 2026, was pulled over for a routine check when the violations came to light.
Authorities revealed that his current suspension was imposed following a drunk driving incident last August, which initially resulted in a 30-day administrative suspension. In addition to driving while disqualified, the suspect faces charges of reckless driving, unsafe overtaking, and driving without valid insurance. Police noted that he has 23 prior traffic convictions on his record.
The investigation file is scheduled to be forwarded to a traffic prosecutor later today. The prosecutor will review the evidence and consider filing a formal indictment alongside a request to keep the suspect in custody until the end of legal proceedings, citing the severity and circumstances of the offenses.
