Woman Moderately Injured in Eilat Domestic Violence Incident, Husband Arrested

A severe domestic violence incident occurred in Eilat, leaving a 67-year-old woman in moderate condition after she was allegedly attacked by her husband.
At midday, MDA emergency dispatchers received a report regarding a woman injured on Lufit Street in the city. Medics and paramedics provided medical treatment at the scene and evacuated her to Yoseftal Hospital suffering from penetrating injuries. Police arrested the husband on suspicion of involvement in the incident.
The incident in Eilat adds to a long string of domestic violence cases. According to data recently published in Israel Hayom, approximately 142,000 women have experienced physical violence from their partners, yet only about 41% sought assistance.
The data also indicates that since the outbreak of the war, there has been an increase in the scope of violence alongside a decline in requests for help. In 2025, 46 women were murdered in Israel—the highest figure in a decade—with 82% of the cases involving a background of domestic violence.
